Community Guidelines
The purpose of The Smart Ports Alliance community is to provide a space for conversation where people in port/terminal related business and technology roles can openly discuss ideas and learn from each other to understand the value and applicability of technology in the business context.
By creating a better understanding on both sides and promoting industry best practice methods of technology planning and adoption, we aim to create a global network of ports effectively using the most appropriate technology to meet their goals, while also enabling the industry aspiration of an inter-connected global network of ports facilitating the efficient movement of goods through the supply chain using sustainable methods.

-
To achieve this, users must be able to discuss their challenges and express their thoughts on topics openly and free. Everyone will have different opinions, and because of the unique context each port finds itself in, what is right for one may not be right for another. Healthy debate is encouraged, but please keep your conversation respectful and professional at all times.

-
This is a professional network designed to move the industry forward. It is not a sales channel. Please do not engage in cold approaches in Direct Messages, or openly promote your solution in post or comment activity. Many of our port members have procurement procedures. Your inappropriate or unsolicited sales pitches won't help. Instead, build your relationships through useful feedback and comments, and try to understand whether yours is the right solution for the challenge first.

-
If you are a technology provider seeking advice from industry professionals on your product applicability, new features or direction, please articulate clearly what your requirement is. Please do not simply post for the purpose of demonstrating your solution. Bear in mind that this is an open forum (with the exception of private groups), and any commercially sensitive information you reveal may be consumed by competitors (although users are expressly forbidden from violating intellectual property rights - see below)

-
It is not Social Media. Please keep personal content for other Social Media channels.
-

-
We recognise that new relationships (commercial and personal) may emerge from engagement on professional subjects. Please keep these conversations for Direct Messaging or other communications channels.
